Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how PCS Songbook ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application ("App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information.

Data We Collect and Store

The App stores the following data locally on your device:

• Profile details you optionally enter (name, church, parish)
• Favorites and preferences (saved hymns/liturgies, selected language, view mode)
• Custom theme selections (color palette) and font selections
• Calendar entries you add inside the App (service date/time/theme/leader and notes)
• Liturgy hymn selections you pick per liturgy
• Custom lyrics you create or edit

All of this data is stored locally on your device using app storage and SharedPreferences. It remains until you delete it or uninstall the App. We do not create accounts and do not sync your data to our servers.

Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

• Personal identification information (beyond what you optionally enter in-app)
• Location data
• Device identifiers or analytics
• Usage statistics or tracking data
• Contact information from your device

Permissions and Network Use

The App requires the following permissions:

• Internet Access: Used to load online lyric search results (via LRCLib.net), YouTube content, sheet music images, and song/video data updates from our server. Core hymn, psalm, and liturgy content is available offline.
• Network State: Used to detect whether an internet connection is available before attempting online features.

The App does not request location, contacts, microphone, or camera permissions.

Third-Party Services

The App interacts with the following third-party services:

• LRCLib.net: When you use the online lyric search feature, your search query is sent to the LRCLib.net public API to retrieve lyrics. No personal data is sent — only the search text you enter.
• YouTube: The App can open YouTube content in an embedded web view. YouTube/Google may collect usage data under their own Privacy Policy when you view their content.
• Google Play Services: The App relies on Google Play for installation and updates. Play services may collect standard device information as part of store operations.

If you open any external links, those sites have their own privacy practices.

Data Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties. Your data stays on your device unless you explicitly share content via your device's share features.

Data Security

All locally stored data is kept in app-private storage on your device. We recommend protecting your device with a passcode or biometric lock to reduce unauthorized access.

Children's Privacy

The App is suitable for general audiences. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected data improperly, please contact us to request deletion.

Your Choices

• You can clear profile details, calendar entries, favorites, and selections within the App.
• You can remove all data by uninstalling the App.
• You can decline to enter optional profile fields and still use all core features.
• Online features (lyric search, YouTube) are optional and can be avoided if you prefer fully offline use.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the App's updates. We recommend checking this policy periodically for any updates.
